Roger’s Supermarket is Your Hometown Supermarket in Corinth, Mississippi that has been home owned and operated by the same family since 1969. Run by your friends and neighbors, you can count on us for variety, connivence, everyday low prices and friendly service.
Roger’s Supermarket was purchased by Jimmy Gardner in early 1969. It was owned and operated at that time by Mr. and Mrs. James Rogers. The building was fairly new because they had recently moved to the present location from the “store by the railroad track”. In 1978, more selling space was added and some inside remodeling done. In 1982, another remodeling project was taken on to add more selling space. The produce and dairy aisle was moved to the north side of the store and additional space was added to the meat department. At this same time, land was purchased on the south side and the warehouse portion was built. This brought the selling space to approximately to 27,500 square feet.
Many things have changed since 1969 when Jimmy Gardner purchased the store from Mr. James Rogers, most for the better. Computers have now taken the place of order sheets and order books. All of our check-outs are now scanners with touch screen monitors. Seems like computers have taken over, but they have actually made things easier and faster.
The second generation of Gardner’s are now operating the store. The name of the store was never changed to Gardner’s because every one knew “Rogers’ Supermarket” as Rogers’. Jimmy Gardner died in 2003 and we are trying to keep things running in the same way that would make him happy. Thanks to our employee’s and everyone ELSE (You, our CUSTOMERS) for 50 wonderful years of success.
